I've been writing fan-fiction since autumn 2002 ... But I didn't start out with Lord of the Rings fic as this page's name might suggest, I was kind of intimidated by the amount of great LotR fic out there and then, LotR is something like the Bible to every fantasy writer and fan.

So instead I started off with a Harry Potter fic. I never even wanted to read the HP books in the first place, but a friend of mine nagged me until I picked up the first book, which I read in about a week. The other two books took me about three days each. After that I was looking forward to the forth book, which I bought as soon as I could lay my hands on a cheap English version ... I just hate the German names of e.g. the Snitch.

After reading the four books again shortly before the first movie came out I already felt that I needed something to fill the time until the next book would be published. But of course then The Lord of the Rings came to our cinemas and I had to re-read that one as well. So eventually in summer 2002 Undomiel talked me into starting to write something myself. But I was still rather into LotR - the Éowyn / Aragorn storyline to be precise.

Even though she didn't want to, I finally got Undomiel to watch Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and had made her an addict (esp. of Severus Snape ... now I wonder why that is *lol*). And she actually got me writing my first ever fanfic - A Love Lost and Refound? - which has been on hiatus for some time now, and I don't really think I'll ever pick it up again. Sorry about that...

After being "forced" to read a lot of Lord of the Rings fanfic however, I also thought to myself that if I didn't start writing my Éowyn / Aragorn story soon, I'd probably never do it. And so I once again started sketching a story and nagged Undomiel (sometimes I do pity her ... but that doesn't happen very often *grin*) ... and she helped me a bit in the end, just to stop me from bugging her any more I think :) Ok, long story short, I decided on a title and started with the first couple of chapters and a prologue ... please be sure to read Dream and Reality. Or rather, what's there of it ;)

But then something happened I hadn't even taken into consideration before. We were having yet another chat about the different pairings and stuff, and I don't really know what got me to say it, but I mentioned that Haldir and Éowyn would make a lovely couple as well (the movie characters that is). She reacted as if I had just said something totally outrageous. Now, you shouldn't do that in front of me :) Only to prove my point did I start to think about a Haldir / Éowyn story, and the more I thought about it, the better they seemed to fit together - both proud, both headstrong :) So I kind of started to neglect poor Aragorn a bit and started with An Unexpected Love.

Once I finished AUL ... and received so many great reviews for it ... I decided to start on a sequel, which is called Crossroads. BTW, I do intend to turn the whole thing into a trilogy - the final part will be set in Valinor ;)

I promise to continue both Crossroads and Dream and Reality, just right now I'm a bit at loss with esp. the latter. And then there is another LotR project I'm working on (what am I thinking) ... a spin-off to Crossroads (just started that one). Just a short note about the spin-off though. It is titled Broken Hearts; yes, I do know that it's the title of a HP story as well, and a very good one, too. But I came up with the title before I noticed this, so you can't blame me, can you? Never mind, the story is centred around Thranduil and Celebrían, my two poor star-crossed lovers. I hope you enjoy it as much as the original story.

Before I forget, I have been attacked by a bunch of lovely little HP plot bunnies, and am now not only considering but actually already started writing my first SLASH story, which will have three main couples *wink* I'm insatiable :) Ok, there's Severus and Sirius - who have become my favourite pairing in the whole HP fandom - Harry and Remus, and, as I want at least one couple to be het, Draco and Hermione :) What do you think?

However, all the above-mentioned stories are currently pretty much on ice since something happened in January 2006 that no one could have predicted. A German channel started to air Queer as Folk US, though at first I wasn't that impressed. It wasn't the first time I had come into contact with the show / fandom, and it hadn't rocked my boots the first time. Probably because the only photo I saw of Brian and Justin back then wasn't the best *lol* So, I kinda enjoyed the show, liked Brian's snarkishness, but Justin's German voice was just too annoying for me to really fall for the whole thing. And that's when a certain site on the net came along, with lovely fan-made video clips. And I got to hear the original voices, and that was that. Domi and I combined forces and got us S1 - 4 through Ebay. The rest is history.

But I managed to last until mid-March, when I announced that I had this plot bunny for a nice little ficlet. Well, the nice little ficlet is now a 37-chapters-long story, and goes by the name of A New Beginning. And with the exception of a little Elrond / Erestor ficlet, I haven't written anything else but QaF since March. So ... if you're waiting for some LotR or HP, you might be in for a long wait. Brian is intimidating my muses, and they simply won't tell me anything that isn't B/J *lol*
